2019 Asper Human Rights and Holocaust Studies Program

2019 Asper Human Rights and Holocaust Studies Program

We are presently making plans for the 2019 Asper Foundation Holocaust and Human Rights Studies Program.

This program is for students in grades 8 and 9. All students are required to participate in 9 educational sessions (2 hours each, usually taught on Sunday mornings) and complete 10 hours of independent community service.

The curriculum for the educational component of the program was developed specifically by Holocaust and human rights educators for The Asper Foundation.

After the educational component and volunteer service are completed, students participate in a trip to Winnipeg, MB to visit the Canadian Museum for Human Rights (http://www.humanrightsmuseum.ca) which opened 2014 in Winnipeg, and other sites of interest (cost and date of trip -in the spring- to be confirmed). Contact Edna Levine by January 11th, to register.

Information on the program is available at http://hrhsp.asperfoundation.com/about-the-program/

Please contact:

Edna LeVine, director of community engagement: elevine@theajc.ca ASAP if you are interested.
