Monday, October 29th

Co-hosted with NSCC Akerley Campus
Location: NSCC Akerley Campus, 21 Woodlawn Road, Dartmouth
Philip Riteman, Holocaust survivor, describes the conditions at Auschwitz, one of the most notorious death camps of World War II. He speaks about his life before, during and after the war, as well as what led him to share his stories with the next generation.

Tuesday, October 30th
7PM Film Presentation: Undying Love
Co-hosted with the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21.
Location: Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21, 1055 Marginal Road, Halifax
Undying Love by Helene Klodawsky tells the poignant, enduring and miraculous love stories of the survivors of World War II. This film focuses on how survivors struggled to reconstruct personal identities and forge intimate relationships.

7PM Film Presentation: Primo Levi’s Journey
Co-Hosted with the Dalhousie University Italian Department
Location: Sir James Dunn Building Room 117, 6310 Coburg Road, Dalhousie University
“Primo Levi’s Journey” retraces the enforced peregrinations of the great Italian chemist following his release from Auschwitz, documenting not just Levi’s trek but the changes wrought in the various locales since the collapse of the Iron Curtain.

7PM Film Presentation: Human Failure
Co-Hosted with the Dalhousie University German Department
Location: Killam Library, MacMechan Auditorium (main floor),6225 University Avenue.
Using first-hand accounts, award-winning filmmaker Michael Verhoeven goes on a search to unearth evidence documenting one of the greatest robberies in human history.
