Moishe House Without Walls and the Youth Reconciliation Initiative Shabbat Dinner – Oct 25, 5:30 PM. 2158 Gottingen St

The Youth Reconciliation Initiative and Halifax Moishe House WOW (Without Walls) are partnering to co-host an event discussing reconciliation with Indigenous peoples from a Jewish perspective.

DATE: Friday, October 25, 2019
TIME: 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm
LOCATION: MNFC, 2158 Gottingen Street, Halifax

SCHEDULE:
– Land acknowledgment and blessing
– Presentation by Emily Nasson from the Mi’kmaq Native Friendship Centre
– Short presentation on reconciliation and Jewish values
– Shabbat candle lighting
– Dinner with small group discussions. Dinner will be vegetarian and dairy.

TOPIC: Discussions in the two presentations and during the dinner will include what reconciliation means in the 21st century, and what responsibilities we have as individuals and as a Jewish community.

COST: Free
