Nova Scotia Human Rights Awards
Nominations are being sought of people and organizations from around the province of Nova Scotia for the 2013 Human Rights Awards. As the Atlantic Jewish Council is a long time member of Partners for Human Rights, we feel that it is time to recognize those who make life better for us in the province by promoting human rights.
The awards are presented by the Human Rights Commission and Partners for Human Rights, and will be given out at the International Human Rights Day celebration, on December 10th. This year’s theme is Speak Up Against Discrimination.
The deadline for nominations is Friday, September 27th. Nominations should include people or groups that support projects which advance human rights; the award categories are individual, organization and youth. For more information and nomination forms, please see: www.gov.ns.ca/humanrights.
