Some General Notes on Meat

  • All Marvid products in original packaging are kosher for Passover.
  • Marvid Turkey is kosher for Passover.
  • All raw meat from Shefa (and only from Shefa) is kosher for Passover and all year.
  • Shefa ground meat is only kosher for Passover when it is 100% ground beef, raw.
  • Shefa hamburgers in the boxes are not kosher for Passover.

Kosher4Passover Dry Goods & Dairy in Halifax, NS

The dairy order for Passover has arrived at Superstore, Joe Howe location. As previously mentioned, it is located at the back of the store, between the milk fridges and the housewares. There is cream cheese, sliced cheese, shredded cheese, cheese rounds, Greek yogurt, butter, cream cheese, sour cream and milk. Unfortunately the Mehedrin milk is dated April 7th .

A portion of the dry goods has also been put on display nearby, with Yehuda matzo 5 lbs for $12.99, Streits egg matzo 1 lb for $3.99, oil, jam, apple juice, grape juice, carbonated grape juice, ketchup, pasta sauce, potato chips.  They are waiting for the balance of the order to arrive with more matzo brands, matzo meal, cake meal, potato starch, farfel, cake mixes, gefilte fish etc.

Selling Chametz

To Rabbi Kerzner of the Beth Israel (Halifax): Selling of the chametz can be arranged by filling out the form received by email, in person after evening services (starting March 26) or by appointment – call Rabbi Kerzner at 902 482 0492. This should be arranged by April 9, at the latest. If you plan to be away for Passover, please make sure to arrange the sale by Friday, April 7.
