Rosh Hashanah With the Jewish Community Havura
Greetings! The Jewish Community Havura would like to invite you to celebrate Rosh Hashanah with us on Sunday evening, September 9th, and Monday morning September 10th at the Northbank Lodge, Pippy Park.
Sunday evening, September 9th
Please gather at 5:00 p.m. as the service will begin at 5:30 p.m. sharp. The community potluck meal will begin approximately at 7:00 p.m. with snacks available throughout the service for children. Candle lighting is at 7:07 p.m.
Monday morning, September 10th
The service will begin at 10:30 a.m. and will be followed by a luncheon.
A minyan is required for this service.
Tashlich: 4:30 at the Riverdale Tennis Club parking lot
If possible, bring a dish to share at our potluck meal. If you cannot bring something to the meal, please come anyway. For the evening potluck, here are some suggestions: challah, honey, apples, pomegranate (if available), tsimmis, hot potato dish such as potato kugel, salads, vegetarian or fish main dishes, desserts (especially honey cake, teiglach…), juice, etc. For the luncheon, here are some suggestions: egg salad, hummus, pita, smoked salmon, bagels, and cream cheese.
Please e-mail jchavura@gmail.com to let them know if you are able to attend and if you will be bringing a dish to the potluck dinner, to let them know what you will be bringing.
There is only one small oven and stove and one refrigerator, so it is preferable to bring food that does not require re-heating.

Finally, if you are able to help with setting up the room or cleaning up after the dinner, please let them know as soon as possible.

Directions to Northbank Lodge:
Drive north on Allendale Road through the Parkway intersection. You will go over a bridge by Long Pond and then turn left onto Nagle’s Place (toward the Fluvarium). Take the first right on a gravel road to Northbank Lodge.
Directions for the Riverdale Tennis Club:
The Riverdale Tennis Club parking lot (In the ‘valley’, where Rennie’s Mill Road turns west and Portugal Cove Road begins. Parking is available both in the Riverdale parking lot and along Rennie’s Mill Road.
